The Scottish Taxi and Private Hire Awards judging process is central to ensuring we attract and reward the very best in in the business.
The process has been developed and honed to ensure it is robust, fair and independent. Led by Chair of Judges, to be announced, a team of independent experts make up the Judges who preside over each respective category. In turn a whole network of professionals from across the industry come together to form the judging team bringing a range of expertise, experience and balance to the judging in the written and interview rounds.
Steve is the Managing Director of Strathclyde Chauffeur Services Ltd, one of the largest independent providers of luxury transport in Scotland. Steve has over eighteen years professional experience within ground transport industry with TOA and Chauffeur drive and has been instrumental in the development and growth of the computer technology to the industry. More recently, he has been keen to push forward ideas to help the industry become more green he is looking to have a zero emission service. Steve’s mission is to get you from A-to-B, in Luxury and with minimal harm to the environment.
A retired Senior Management Professional, specialising in Information Technology.
Frank has also developed and managed staff in various other departments including Sales, Production, Admin and Logistics.
Lauchie has considerable experience of the Taxi and Private Hire trade since 1999 when he became immersed in the sector. Lauchie is a well known and respected figure in the industry with a wealth of knowledge, particularly within computer-aided booking and dispatch technology.
Based in Edinburgh, Lauchie has travelled extensively, giving him an appreciation of how cab companies operate in many countries around the world.
Stuart has worked in the Scottish & NI Insurance industry for over 22 years. His speciality is underwriting commercial risks although he has held other jobs such as Development Manager and Account Executive.
He currently works for ERS, who have been providing specialist motor insurance products in the UK for more than 70 years. His job helps him combine work with his passion for cars.
Stuart also has considerable Taxi knowledge, as well being an underwriter he once owned and drove two private hire vehicles in the Lanarkshire area. An experience which he won’t quickly forget!
Finalists will be announced mid-January. Not all entrants invited to present will be named as finalists. If you are named as a finalist you will be notified by email by and requested to submit additional information, such as a photo of your entry for use at the ceremony.
